Ice detection system for gas turbines

Vibro-Meter's ice detection system consists of an EW140 ice sensor and a DIC 413 de-icing controller (signal conditioner). The system detects the onset of ice formation and can be used to optimize the use of de-icing air in turbine anti-icing systems.

EW 140 Ice sensor

» Protects gas turbine from possible ice damage
» Optimizes use of de-icing air, thereby minimizing loss of engine power
» No maintenance required

  • Measurement range (ice thickness): 0.2 to 2 mm
  • Operating temp: -55°C to 120°C

Velocity transducer system for low-frequency measurements

CV 210 velocity sensor
This vibration velocity sensor is adapted to the special monitoring requirements of hydraulic turbomachinery, an application where rotational speeds between 60 and 100 rpm are encountered. The excellend low-frequency response of the CV210 makes it ideal for all types of low-speed machinery.

» Stainless steel body ideal for damp and corrosive environments
» Can be mounted vertically or horizontally
  • 50 mV/mm/s
  • Measurement range:
    50 mm/s (up to 70 Hz)
    100 mm/s (70 Hz to 400 Hz)
  • Operating Temp: -25°D to 100°C
  • Frequency range: 1 Hz to 400 Hz

LS 120 & LS 121: Air Gap Monitoring System

On large hydroelectric generators, the air gap between rotor and stator is an important indicator of machine condition. Two versions of this capacitive sensor are available: the LS 120 and the LS 121. The choice depends on the size of the air gap to be measured. Each sensor must be used with a matching signal conditioner: The Ls 120 is paired with the ILS 730 conditioner, and the LS 121 with the ILS 731 conditioner.

  » Contactless measurement
» No wear-out
  • Range:
    2 mm to 33 mm (LS 120)
    15 mm to 65 mm (LS 121)
  • Temp range: -15°C to 125°C

Matching ILS 73x Signal Conditioners
» Three outputs on terminal strips (pole profile, rotor profile, and min gap) for condition and protection monitoring
» Voltage or current outputs

  • 24 VDC power supply
  • Temp range =25°C to 70°C
