Two Embedded Software Engineers

Vibro-Meter SA (Meggitt PLC Group) is a medium sized high tech company currently employing over 550 people at its headquarters in Fribourg (Switzerland). Our company develops, manufactures and sells, world-wide, a complete range of transducers and electronic systems for the monitoring of engines, turbines and other rotating machinery in both the aerospace and energy industries. For our “Engineering – Energy” department, we are currently looking for two embedded software engineers.

The position:

You will be part of a multidisciplinary engineering team focusing on the design and development of electronics and measurement systems within the Energy market. You will be implementing code on embedded processors for controlling data acquisition devices and running algorithms as part of a sophisticated measurement system to monitor the health of mission-critical rotating machinery.

Due to the vast range of measurement applications, the related electronics products can be characterized by a high degree of sophistication, complexity and versatility, challenging your analytical skill, and problem-solving capability.

Basic requirements for both positions:

Electronics Engineering or Computer Science degree with a minimum of 2 years of work experience
C/C++ programming skills
Experience in programming embedded processors
Experience in programming digital signal processors (DSP) using TI Code Composer Studio IDE (TI C64xx or C67xx DSP experience preferred)
Experience in industrial communications interfaces and protocols is an asset
Languages: very good working levels required in English, French and/or German an asset
Ability to generate, and/or maintain detailed technical documentation in English
Pro-active and persevering personality, enjoying taking initiative
Self-starter, quick learner

Profile 1 : Embedded processor focused:

Experience with PowerPCs processors preferred

Profile 2 : DSP focused:

Programming with Assembly is a plus
Embedded processors: TI OMAP-L137 experience preferred, experience with ARM-9 and STM32 microprocessors a plus
Experience with Linux TCP/IP preferred
Experience in development standards such as IEC-61508 (electronics), DO-178B (aerospace), automotive or medical preferred
