Senior software engineer: Team Leader for embedded software development (Ref. EAS-40)

Vibro-Meter SA (Meggitt PLC Group) is a medium sized high-tech company currently employing approx. 550 people at its headquarters in Fribourg. Our company develops, manufactures and sells, world-wide, a complete range of transducers and electronic systems for the monitoring of engines, turbines and other rotating machinery in both the aerospace and energy industries.

To further strengthen our “Electronics Engineering – Aerospace” department, we are currently looking for a Senior Software Engineer, specialized in real time embedded software development.

The position

The incumbent will participate and lead design, development of real time software on RTOS environments embedded on HW platforms based on DSP, PPC for engine monitoring unit. As part of a team you will manage the architecture reviews, the implementation, the code reviews, the integration testing and communication with customers. The candidate will have the opportunity to lead a multidisciplinary team on technical aspects acting closely with other Team Leaders and Project Manager. The chosen candidate will have the chance to evolve in an international and dynamic environment.

Your profile

• Graduated in Software Engineering or equivalent
• Successfull experience (min 5 years) in industrial software development, especially in real time and embedded programming.
• Ideally knowledge of DO-178B (aerospace) or equivalent (medical, railways)
• Strong C/C++ skills
• Excellent knowledge of communication protocols (such as TCP/IP, CAN, ARINC429 and AFDX).
• Good working levels required in English and French, you have the ability to communicate at all levels of the hierarchy.
• Result oriented and able to prioritize in complex technical projects to lead a software project team, you have a strong customer approach.
• Autonomous, open and pro-active attitude, good communication skills
