Mechanical Engineer - Ref. IMT-02

Vibro-Meter SA (part of Meggitt PLC) is a high-tech company currently employing over 550 people at its headquarters in Fribourg, Switzerland. Our company is a world leader in the design and manufacture of condition monitoring systems for propulsion units and machinery for both the aerospace and industrial markets. To further strengthen the development team of our Industrial & Marine Division, we are currently looking for a Mechanical Engineer.

The position

You will be part of a multidisciplinary engineering team focusing on the design and development of electronics for a high speed sensor system. You will be responsible to test and validate microwave sensing system products using computer simulation as well as laboratory and field testing. You will develop expertise in the area of rotating machinery measurement to support customer testing and questions. You will also be responsible for:

• Designing, implementing, improving and testing measurement algorithms that convert microwave signals into measurements used for condition based maintenance and improving the efficiency of gas turbine engines
• Analyzing and interpreting test data from both laboratory and field testing
• Improving the testing equipment as well as designing and implementing new test setups

Your Profile

You have a degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) with a broad-based experience that you ideally gained in a small company or a start-up (metrology background is an asset). You have CAD experience (ideally Solidworks) with some basic programming experiences (ideally LabView). A turbine or rotating machinery background is advantageous. You are a self-starter and a quick learner with a proactive and flexible personality. Excellent knowledge in English is mandatory – French or German would be a strong asset.
