3 Software Engineers – Windows Application Software (Junior & Senior)

Vibro-Meter SA (part of Meggitt PLC) is a high-tech company currently employing over 550 people at its headquarters in Fribourg, Switzerland. Our company is a world leader in the design and manufacture of condition monitoring systems for propulsion units and machinery for both the aerospace and industrial markets. For the development teams of our Industrial & Marine Division, we are currently looking for three engineers for embedded software.

The position

These positions are part of multidisciplinary engineering teams focusing on electronic systems for industrial markets. The product portfolio covers a vast range of demanding measurement applications and includes electronics hardware, embedded software, as well as application software products for PC environments under Windows.
These software products are used with our highly complex, scaleable and fully configurable data acquisition systems, and serve as the primary user interface for configuration and operation of our equipment. This demands a very strong consideration for aspects like user friendliness, simplicity and clarity of the graphical user interface, combined with robustness and rigor of mission critical applications.
In your role, you will participate in diverse development projects that could include:

Analysis of customer requirements
Creation of detailed technical specifications
Feasibility studies, including simulation and early prototyping
Detailed design and implementation of software modules
Creation of test tools and test documentation for design validation
Responsibility for maintenance and evolution of several existing software modules

Software architect / technical lead: conceptualize, detail and document SW architecture
Additional managerial tasks such as planning, coordination and operational management of a small SW sub-team

Your Profile

Depending on the seniority level of the position (junior or senior), we are looking for the following skills and qualifications:

Computer Science or Engineering degree with focus on software (or equivalent), but with a good notion of overall system aspects
Windows-based application development, client-server architecture, real-time systems, graphical user interfaces (e.g. data visualization)
Proven experience in SW architecture and design
Very good knowledge of C# and Net Framework, Winforms as well as SQL Databases. Experience in C, C++ an asset.
Experience with network protocols such as TCP/IP
Languages : very good working level required in English, French and/or German an asset
Quick learner, pro-active & persevering personality
