Senior Systems Engineer - Ref. ES-03
Vibro-Meter (part of Meggitt Group) is a medium sized high-tech company currently
employing over 550 people at its headquarters in Fribourg (Switzerland). Our
company is known worldwide for high-technology sensing and monitoring systems
for the aerospace and industrial markets. For our Systems Group within the
Engineering Department we are currently looking for a senior systems engineer.
The Position
Within the Engine Systems team you will deliver engineering expertise and
business excellence in all the Systems disciplines for developing embedded
systems and computing platforms applied to monitoring, diagnostics and prognostics
for airborne applications.
You will take the lead and responsibility of all system-relevant aspects for
the projects entrusted to you, according to Vibro-Meter’s New Product
Introduction process:
- Technical counterpart of Sales & Marketing in preliminary design
concepts and cost estimates to delivering innovative responses to customer
requests.
- Requirements analysis, specification of complex systems at unit
level and between units, including project set-up to meet customer requirements
at
lowest overall
costs and identified and managed risk to technical compliance.
- Technical
lead of the projects entrusted and coaching of the team involved through
the whole development cycle. Definition and completion of all deliverables
that exist at system level in order to meet customer and certification requirements
(FMEA, Accomplishment Summary, Design Descriptions, ICDs, etc.).
- Subcontracting
of work packages to suppliers, and follow-up to ensure delivery to the
pre-agreed contract and plan (specifications, costs, and time).
This position may evolve into a Chief Engineer role.
Required profile
- Master’s Degree in Electronics Engineering or equivalent
background, with strengths in analogue and digital electronics hardware,
and good knowledge
of embedded software.
- Broad professional experience of min. 8 years with
proven track record in systems engineering through the entire development
cycle.
- Detailed technical knowledge in the areas of aircraft systems and
specific development standards (RTCA-DO-160, DO-254 and DO-178B), and experience
in
electronics for harsh environments are a strong asset.
- Experience in leading
a skilled engineering team to meet a demanding schedule in a multi-cultural
environment.
- Highly motivated, proactive personality, good communicator verbally
and formal written reporting (fluent in French or German, and good English
practice),
willing and able to travel.
