Magnetic Chip Collectors
Magnetic chip collectors are widely used on gas turbine engines and various fixed-wing gearboxes. They are manually inspected at select intervals for the presence of failure related debris particles. They are usually housed in self-closing valves to prevent the loss of oil during inspection of the magnet. Pictured are various Vibro-Meter FAA-PMA approved chip collectors currently available. These products are for use on a variety of applications from the Rolls- Royce Trent and Pratt & Whitney PW2000 engines, to starters and generators.
