Setting the pace for EVM Systems
Engine Vibration Monitoring (EVM) Systems measure and process engine related vibration signals from engine mounted accelerometers. The goal of this measurement is to provide information to the flight crew and the maintenance staff regarding the health of the engine.
In addition to this primary function (vibration measurement), Vibro-Meter provides a Fan Trim Balance (FTB) function as a standard feature in its latest EVM designs.
This feature allows FTB data taken during revenue flights to be used for balancing engines and consequently to contribute to effective cost savings. When properly processed, vibration and FTB data allow the operator to perform trend analysis. Thanks to this, engine overhauls are only performed when really necessary, as opposed to overhauls performed on a basis of periodic estimation. Applied Engineering for Effective Avionics Solutions
Vibro-Meter is the world leader in the supply of EVM systems and associated engine mounted remote charge converters (RCC). High quality, high reliability avionics is the hallmark of Vibro-Meter, which is called upon by an increasing number of customers for specific avionics projects. Vibro-Meter has been selectd to design and produce Engine Interface Units, Central Maintenance Computers, Propeller Interface Units, Charge Amplifiers, Arinc Bus Interfaces, and a variety of DSP based applications. Additional avionic developments in the field of structural vibration monitoring and control are under way.
Vibro-Meter entered the avionic field in 1964 and has since become one of the leading companies in the area. This leadership is demonstrated by the contract awards related to the latest generation of aircraft from Boeing, Airbus, IAI, Fokker, Gulfstream, Hawker, Cessna, Embraer, Eurocopter, ATR, Tupolev, and Iluyshin.
